It would be difficult to exaggerate the care Cholendra and his team took at every step (literally) of the way during our 15 days in Nepal. We set out on a trek for Gosaikund Pass mid March and although snow and a touch of altitude sickness resulted in a changed itinerary, we had an amazing walk through these mountains. Our guide Tika and porter Nora explained the plants and showed us the animals on the way and were careful and helpful with us (3 people in their 60s..) Cholendra also arranged accommodations for us in Khatmandu, Chitwan and transportations for several other legs of our trip. They are extremely "client focused" and both attentive and kind. A true "Himalayan Joy."

Best trip to Gokyo!
Himalia adventure is the place to go when wanting to travel safely in the mountains. Amazing experience, professional planning, guides, and porters. I loved every minute and I highly recommend it. I know my next trip - will be only with Cholendra and his great team!
My family of four travel a lot but this trip to Nepal (Kathmandu, Gorkha, Tansen, Pokhara,Lumbini, Chitwan etc) - organized & accompanied by Himalayan Joy Adventure (HMJ) - was one of best trips ever. And this was not only because of this wonderful country and it's specific spirit. The team of HML was so sincere, very professional, always ready to help, prescient and trustworthy throughout the trip - no matter if it was the the Managing Director (CHOLENDRA), the guides (esp. TIKA RAJ, the driver and Cholendra's new hotel team in Kath. i.e. Sampada Garden Resort. And it all came from their hearts. I highly recommend HJA! 6-star service.

cholendra
I did not trek with Cholendra but he acted as my sole contact in Kathmandu for getting my Chinese visa for entry into Tibet. I was in Kathmandu for 3 days, and I loved exploring the area but Cholendra was unquestionably my favorite part of the visit. Rarely will you ever meet such a down to earth and kind person. His sincerity radiates off him. This level of character was pretty important to me because I was giving him $$$ and my passport, and trusting that he would return. He's also a solid business man and came through on exactly what he promised to. He was always on time for our meetings and he was never pushy about being paid.
He also took time out of his very busy schedule to take my mother and I out to dinner, which I thought was very considerate of him, especially given that we were pretty small-time clients that weren't giving him much business (visa arrangements v trekking clients).
If I do go trekking, there's no doubt in my mind who will be my guide. Thanks for everything, Cholendra. I wish you the best on your future endeavors.

Amazing trip!!
I highly recommend Cholendra and his great crew of guides, porters and crew. We went to Goyko lake and had a very special time. Cholendra is an amazing guide, professional and pleasant, always has a smile on his face and he knows all the paths around. If you're planning a trip - this is who to go to.

Bhutan Tour, 2016
They have arranged the tour well with all our needs taken into account. Cholendra particularly is very patient with the unfit ones when it comes to hiking. I wouldn't have made it up to the Tiger Nest Monastery without his support. He makes you believe that you could do and just take your time. I have not seen many tour agents who are that patient. And he helped to sort out some glitches here and there for our group members. It was very much appreciated. Truly the trip to Bhutan was rewarding with him and his contacts Bhutan. I will definitely choose Himalayan Joy in future for any highland pilgrimages.

The Adventure of a Lifetime
I trekked with Cholendra to Everest Base Camp at the end of December through late January, and it was an experience I will never forget. Not only did my friend and I have fantastic weather the entire time we were in the mountains, but Cholendra and our porter, Kedar, were exceptional hosts, guides, and friends. They were always making sure we had food to eat, were staying warm, and having fun. Cholendra was also very good about maintaining a slow and steady pace that allowed us to go long distances without tiring. In addition, even before the trek began, Cholendra picked up my friend and I from the airport at two separate times, took us out to breakfast and dinner, and helped us gather all of our gear in Thamel - all while running his business! I was blown away by Cholendra's commitment to his clients and to his community. He has done extensive volunteer work and rebuilding for mountain communities (like his own village) since the 2015 earthquake, is a co-founder of a local high school, and is currently starting his own NGO to help with education initiatives in Nepal. If you're looking for a guide that is knowledgable about the area and involved in bettering the community, you will not find a better man than Cholendra. I was so happy to have met him, and he has become a lifelong friend and part of my family. I can't wait to go back for round two!
