The Jiri to Everest Base Camp trek route is the classic route that takes you into the Everest region. The trail was first used by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa trekked while scaling the Mount Everest.

Best Seasons for the Trek
The main trekking seasons in the Everest region are Spring (March-May) and Autumn (September, October). During these times, the climate is more favorable and stable for the trek. Dry weather displays perfect sceneries.
The average daytime temperature remains around 14 degrees in October whereas, the night turns chilling cold with a drop of temperature to around -5 degrees.

Our Airport Representative will meet you at the Tribhuvan International Airport. From there, we will drop you at your hotel. We will arrange you a refreshing dinner at a Nepali Restaurant in the evening. Until then, you can take rest or stroll around the city.

On this day you will join the sightseeing tours to world heritage sites inside the Kathmandu valley like Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Patan Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Stupa, Kathmandu Durbar Square, etc. Overnight in Kathmandu
Travel hours: 10-12 hours bus ride
We start early in the morning. We will travel via Kathmandu- Kodari highway for around 3 hours till we cross the Sunkoshi river. From there, we start ascending towards a place called Mude. The road is bumpy, yet offers a beautiful scenic view.
The artistic terraced field, small villages and the panoramic view of eastern Himalayas are enchanting en route. You can see Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa and many more. Finally, the bus journey stops after we reach on the little town Bhandar. Overnight at a Hotel in Bhandar.
Trekking duration: 5-6 hours
From Bhandar, the trail descends down following a small stream and a dense forest. The winding path takes you to a small Sherpa village, Kinja. From Kinja, the route continues uphill towards the Lamjura pass. With great views of excellent landscapes and distant villages, the climb takes us to Chimbu, 2140 m.
After a few hours of long walk, we will finally reach The hospitality site. Sete is a small Sherpa village surrounded by beautiful Rhododendron forest. Overnight stay at a hotel in Sete.
Trek duration: 6-7 hrs walk
A fairly gradual climb through the beautiful Rhododendron forests takes us to Lamjura Pass, 3530 m. The pass is the highest point between Jiri and Namche. During Spring, the trail becomes colorful. The red, white and pink Rhododendron blossoms beautify the hills and hillocks.
Descending down through fir and hemlock forests for nearly half an hour from Lamjura Pass, we will reach Taktor. The trail then climbs to the view point from where you'll get a splendid view of Junbesi.

Traveling duration: 4-5 hours walk
Explore Junbesi surrounding. The Junbesi Khola runs toward the Thubten Choling monastery (300m). The trail crosses the Junbesi Khola on a wooden bridge. The steep left-hand trail from the Junbesi Khola leads you to Khurtang.
And you will see the first view of Everest from there. You will also see Thamserku and The Mera Peak (6461m).
The ascend towards the Ringmo village takes you to Takshindo La. In Taksindu, there is an isolated monastery. The monastery is an example of monastic architecture. Overnight at Taksindu
Trekking duration: 4-5 hours
From Taksindu, the trail descends through dense conifer and rhododendron forests. You will see many small streams and clean water flowing. On walking ahead along the trekking trail, you will reach Nunthala. From Nunthala, the trail heads towards Khari khola.
The trail descends down to the suspension bridge at Khari Khola. You will also see a few water-driven mills there. Overnight at a hotel in Kharikhola.
Trekking duration: 5-6 hrs.
Starting early in the morning from Khari khola, an ascending trail up the steep hill takes us to Bupsa Danda. The climb is steady. While trekking through the forest, you'll see lots of monkeys there.
We climb to the place called mani wall. From there you can see the best view of Mt. Khumbila and Mt. Cho Oyu. Leaving behind the Bupsa village towards our south, the trail continues towards Paiya village.
Continuing the trail, you will finally see Paiya, also called as Chitok. It is a Sherpa settlement bounded by forests from all around. From the ridge, the trail continues towards east. The walk is a deep descent into the canyon of Paiya Khola.

descent Starting after breakfast in Paiya, the trail climbs up and down for an hour toward Surke. Surkhe, 2290m, is a small settlement near Dudh Koshi. From Surke the trail climbs for about 15 minutes till we reach a split point. From there, we climb north up to Chaurikharka, a green Sherpa settlement. You will see a monastery and a high school there.
Chaurikharka has fertile land. Crops like Barley and Wheat and green vegetables grow there. Taking along the flat trail through mid-village, we will join the trail from Lukla to EBC. During peak seasons, the path is quite busy with more trekkers, porters and animals. Continuing along the side of the Dudh Kosi valley, we trek to Ghat.
Our trail ascends to the ridge and through rocky path of Phakding. Few hours of scenic walk through rocky path brings you at Phakding. Overnight at Phakding.
Trekking duration: 5-6 hours
After a fine breakfast, we take the trail up the banks of the Dudh Koshi. The trail leads through the beautiful pine forest. Crossing the suspension bridges, we reach Monjo. Monjo is a Sherpa village also called as the entrance gate to the Sagarmatha National Park.
We gradually descend down to Jorsalle village. To reach our destination for the day, Namche Bazaar, we will take a three hours ascent. FinallyNuptse, you are at the prosperous trading town in Khumbu Region. You will love the sights of tranquil Himalayas blushing while the sun sets.

This day is about adapting with Himalayan weather. Namche Bazaar is a busy Sherpa town. You can walk around this beautiful town ow walk to Khumjung village and Edmund Hillary School. There's a Sherpa museum at Namche. You can go visit there as well. Overnight in Namche.
Trekking duration: 5-6 hours
We start after a breakfast with pleasant walk through beautiful forests with great views of landscape and nature. You will witness the view of majestic Himalayas smiling back to you. You will see snow covered peaks like Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Thamserku, Ama Dablam, and Kwangde so close.
Climbing uphill through the forested areas, the walk to Tengboche is hard. The most beautiful thing you will see there is the big Tengboche Monastery. Overnight at a tea house in Thyangboche.
Trek duration: 5-6 hours
From Tengboche, we walk across beautiful Rhododendron forest to Deboche. The forest is colorful and filled with aroma during Spring. On the route, you'll meet the Imja Khola. We will cross a bridge over the Imja river. On further walking, you will reach Dingboche on the lap of Ama Dablam.
Dingboche, is a beautiful place. It is also the starting spot to the Imja Tse Valley and the gateway to Chukung.
Trek duration: 5-6 hours
We will start in the morning after a filling breakfast. Walking over the steep inclined trail, we will reach the moraine deposited by the Khumbu glacier. Again, we start continuing along the rugged trail to Lobuche. Lobuche lies near to the base of Khumbu glacier.
Lodges at Lobuche are primitive. Most of them are stone huts with large bunk bedrooms. Overnight in Lobuche.
Trek duration: 7-8 hours
We continue our trek after a fine breakfast. Walking over rugged terrains, you can enjoy wonderful views of Mt. Pumori, Mt. Nuptse and others.
After reaching Gorakshep, we will check in the hotel for stay. From Gorak Shep, we will climb to the Everest Base Camp, the lap of the highest peak in the world Everest. From there you will witness several towering peaks surrounding and smiling back to you in amusement.
After spending some time at the base camp we will be back to Gorak Shep. Overnight at hotel you had checked into earlier.
Trek duration: 6-7 hours
The next morning we walk over the rugged himalayan trail towards the Kala Patthar (5555 meters), the vantage point for Everest view.From here you will catch the finest views of the Everest and its neighboring peaks. Enjoying the himalayan sceneries, we will walk to the Khumbu Icefall. The trail passes across the moraines and streams. You will walk back to Gorak Shep, enjoy your meal and then start descending back to Pheriche.

Trek duration: 6-7 hours
On this day, we will trek down following our footsteps back to Tengboche. Walking further along the trail, we return to the beautiful Namche Bazaar. Wrapping in our memories the great views of Himalayas, diversified landscapes, wildlife and the Rhododendron forests, we trek back to Namche for the overnight stay.
Starting early in the morning from Namche, we head back to Lukla. Enjoying the immortal memories, we walk to Lukla. Overnight at Lukla.
After the 19 days trek, you will fly back to Kathmandu via a short flight (45 minutes) from Lukla. Enjoy the sceneries during the flight. If you take the seat towards North, you'll see the white Himalayas bidding a farewell.
We will host you a dinner where you can talk about the remarkable trek experiences in the evening. Overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.
You may buy your families some gifts. It's your last day here in Nepal. You will fly back to your place after the flight takes off from the Tribhuvan International Airport. We will drop you three hours before your actual departure.
FLIGHT DELAY IN LUKLA: - Sometimes the flight may be canceled due to the unpredictable weather in Luka so Himalayan Joy Adventure has created an itinerary for this trek with one day free/extra day at the end of the trek. In case your flight has been canceled more than two days, we will charter a helicopter to and from Luka to ensure your flight on scheduled towards homeland or further destination. This extra service cost will be minimum $500 to maximum $4000 USD dollars which you can claim from your insurance.

ECO-FRIENDLY: - Every day the world is facing a big issue of environmental pollution and in Nepal as well. Our field staffs are quite conscious about environmental pollution at any time and we encourage to all. We would suggest to our guest to use boiled water or water purification pills than buying a bottle of water, it helps to avoid plastic bottles which can take a long time to disappear. During the trek, if possible you can order same items food in a group which minimises the fuel used and to make a campfire is almost forbidden. We would encourage being a responsible traveller so, just leaving a footprint on the trail and bring out all non-biodegradable which you had.
