Engaged Himalayan Joy Adventure for our Gokyo Valley Trek based on the recommendations given by everyone else. Planned the trip with Cholendra and the trek was guided by Tika with Jon as our porter. The trek is an unforgettable experience and the whole team was very knowledgeable and some of the friendliest people I've met. Tika was patient and had so many great information to share along the trek. He even spent some time with us in Kathmandu after the trek as time permitted. From the moment you arrive in the airport until you're flying back, their hospitality has been the best. I definitely recommend Himalayan Joy Adventure to anyone planning on hiking/trekking in Nepal!
We had an amazing travel and trekking experience with Himalayan Joy Adventure. Cholendra is an extraordinary organizer and everything from the pick up at the airport, organizing of flights to Lukla and back, clean loges to sleep fresh and delicious food on the 12 days trek. Our guide Tika was a terrific part of the experience as he shared his vast knowledge of the mountains, and culture with us and was always patient, smiling and caring.
We had an unforgettable trekking experience with Himalayan Joy Adventure in the Everest region. Our guide was Tika Rai, very experienced, quiet and humble that made everything to ensure that our journey will be smooth. Cholendra on the logistics side was very generous and service oriented and the whole organization from landing in Kathmandu to departure was well taken care of. We have left Nepal with great memories of this amazing trip.
It is our second trek with Hymalaya Joy company and it was as perfect as the first one. We have been walking for 10 days from Lukla up to to Gokio lake and Renjo La pass , than back via Thame, Namche Bazar to Lukla. Everything was perfectly arranged, since the day of our arrival to Kathmandu and until our safe return home.. All the accommodations on the route and in Kathmandu were excellent. Our guide, Tika was extremely knowledgable and experienced. Most important : we felt very safe. We highly recommend this company to any one who is interested in trekking the Himalaya mountains or any other place in Nepal. Visited October 2015
My girlfriend and I had a wonderful trek in the Everest region with Cholendra in October 09. Besides from being an excellent guide, Cho is a great companion. Always in good spirit, fit like a Yak, and in control of every situation that may occur while you are trekking to “the Top of the World”. I would recommend trekking with Cholendra anytime, everywhere in Nepal. Bonus info: Cho led us to meet Apa Sherpa (Guiness World Record holder for being on top of Everest 20 times). A fantastic last memory, to end an unforgettable trek. All my best and hopefully seeing you again Mads

ECO-FRIENDLY: Every day the world is facing a big issue of environmental pollution and in Nepal as well. Our field staffs are quite conscious about environmental pollution at any time and we encourage to all. We would suggest to our guest to use boiled water or water purification pills than buying a bottle of water, it helps to avoid plastic bottles which can take a long time to disappear. During the trek, if possible you can order same items food in a group which minimises the fuel used and to make a campfire is almost forbidden. We would encourage being a responsible traveller so, just leaving a footprint on the trail and bring out all non-biodegradable which you had.
FLIGHT DELAY IN LUKLA: Sometimes the flight may be cancelled due to the unpredictable weather in Luka so Himalayan Joy Adventure has created an itinerary for this trek with one day free/extra day at the end of the trek. In case your flight has been cancelled more than two days, we will charter a helicopter to and from Luka to ensure your flight on scheduled towards homeland or further destination. This extra service cost will be minimum $500 to maximum $4000 USD dollars which you can claim from your insurance.
