Everest Three High Passes Trek is a famous and challenging trek in the Everest Region, which has some of the highest passes in the world. The Everest Three High Passes trek covers all of the Everest region, including the popular trekking routes to Everest Base Camp and Gokyo-Ri. Each of the passes towers above 5000m, with Renjo-La at 5360m, Cho-La at 5420m, and Kongma-La at 5535m. The Three High Passes Trek requires time, strength, and proficiency but with the support of our Himalayan Joy Adventure team, you will be able to fully enjoy the adventure. Throughout the Three High Passes Trek, you will have incredible panoramic views of four of the world's eight highest mountains, Mount Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8516m), Makalu (8463m), and Cho Oyu (8201m).
Everest Three High Passes Trek begins from Lukla (2800m) after an exciting 35minute flight from Kathmandu. Once you arrive in Lukla, you will begin on the well-maintained trail leading through Sherpa Villages with colourful mani walls, prayers wheels, stupas, and prayer flags to Phakding. The trail follows the Dudhkoshi River past small villages and crossing many steel suspension bridges to the infamous Namche Bazaar (3440m). Namche is a bustling trekker’s hub with lots of cafes and shops to wander and explore, and it is important for every ascending Trekkers to spend two nights for acclimatisation. After acclimatising to the altitude, you will continue your trek through forests of pine, juniper and rhododendron to Lumden. From Lumden, you will begin the strenuous adventure through the beautiful meadows and steep ascents to Remo-La (5316m). Remo-La has one of the best views in Nepal and descends to the exquisite valley of Gokyo (4700m). From here, one can ascend up to Gokyo-Ri (5300m) for magnificent views of Everest, Makalu Cho Oyu, Ngojumpa Glacier, Gokyo Lakes and Gokyo valley. You will then cross the largest glacier of Nepal, Ngojumpa to Cho-la pass (5420m), the second pass of this trek. Ascending to the Cho-La pass may physical demanding and require crampon for ice. Here, the Three High Passes trail joins with Everest Base Camp Trek trail and leads to Kala Patthar (5550m) for an incredible view of Mount Everest (8848m) and Everest Base Camp (5364m), where you can see the fascinating Khumbu ice falls.
From Kala Patthar, you will make your way to Kongma-La pass (5535m), which is the highest among the three passes. The top of Kongma-la offers an excellent view of mountains and valley. The trail then begins a descent to Chhukung (4730m), Tengboche, Dingboche, and Pangboche along the Imja Khola. Tengboche has the biggest monastery of in this region. The trail continues to descend via Namche Bazaar along the Dudhkoshi River to Lukla, which ends your challenging yet rewarding adventure on Three High Passes Trek.

Early in the morning, you will take an exciting 35-minute flight to Lukla (2800m), landing at the Tenzing-Hilary Airport. Lukla is the gateway to the Everest Region. From Lukla, you will begin trekking to Phakding (2620m), passing colourful mani walls, prayer wheels, and stupas on the way. Overnight in Phakding
After breakfast, our city guide will take you to various historical places and world heritage listed sites including Pashupatinath, Bouddhanath stupa, Swayabhunath and Kathmandu Durbar Square. After sightseeing, you will be dropped at your hotel with time to prepare for your trek. Overnight in Kathmandu.
In the morning your trekking guide will take you to the Kathmandu domestic flight terminal to catch your flight to the Tenzing-Hilary airport in Lukla. This thirty-five-minute flight is spectacular, including views of Gaushankar, Dorjelakpa, and beautiful farming terrains and forests. Lukla(2700m) is the gateway to Everest Base Camp and other Everest region treks. After arriving in Lukla, you will begin your trek descending through Chaukharka and Chhoplung village. From Chhoplung, you will have a view of the holy mountain, Khumbila, which is never climbed. The trail continues its descent down to Thado Khola, passing by beautiful Mani walls and prayer wheels along the way. Soon, you will reach Phakding. Overnight in Phakding.
From Phakding, the trail follows the Dudhkoshi River through small villages to Jorshale, which is home to the Sagarmatha National park entry office. Shortly after, you will stop for lunch and cross the High Hilary Bridge over the Dudhkoshi River eventually reaching Top Danda for your first view of Mount Everest (8848m). You will then trek for another 45 minutes making your final ascent to Namche Bazaar (3440m). Namche Bazaar is bustling tourist hub with many nice accommodations, cafes, and places to explore. You will have an acclimatisation day in Namche Bazaar, which means you, will climb to a higher altitude and sleep at a lower altitude to prevent altitude sickness. After breakfast, you will climb to a view point near the army camp with a beautiful view of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Aamadablam, Thamserku, Kusum Ri, Kongde and the Imja Valley. Then you will climb up to Shyangboche, which is home to the famous luxury Everest hotel. From here, you will continue to beautiful Sherpa settlement in the Khumjung valley and Khunde. Khumjung is the home of the Hilary School and has a monastery where Yeti's head is kept. After your acclimatisation hike, you will return to Namche. Overnight in Namche.
From Namche Bazaar, the trail slight ascends through forests of pine, juniper, birch and rhododendron, and then crosses small streams to the Sherpa village of Thamo. From here, the trail slightly ascends as you enjoy the view and witness birds and cross the Bhotekoshi River reaching the Sherpa Village of Thame. Thame is a small village with a beautiful monastery where you can visit the village and receive a blessing from the Great Lamas. Overnight in Thame.
After breakfast, you will begin trekking along through the village of Thamten and stop in Marlung for lunch. After lunch, you will cross the river and ascend through terraced farmed land and huts to Lumden. From here one trail continues to Tibet via Nangpa-La. You check into a room and will hike up for acclimatisation and then come back. Overnight in Lumden.
Early in the morning, you will begin trekking towards Remo-La. The trail begins with a steep ascent up but gradually flattens out as your pass through pastures and stone huts along a small stream. From here you can see the top of Remo-la; the trail climbs up through stones and there is a risk of falling stone near the top. After 5 hours of trekking, you will reach the top of Remo-La (5316m). The pass offers incredible mountain views of the mountains and the entire Gokyo Valley. This pass is one of the best viewpoints of Everest region. You will descend through stony, moraine trail to on the bank of Gokyo Lake, the village of Gokyo. Overnight in Gokyo
Early in the morning, you will hike to Gokyo-Ri to catch the sunrise view. This peak is the best view point in Everest region providing the excellent views of four mountains all over eight thousand meters including, Mt. Everest, Makalu, Lhotse and Cho Oyu. In addition, there are surprising views of Gokyo valley and Nhojumpa glacier, the largest glacier of Nepal in the Himalayas. After enjoying the view, you will return back to your lodge for breakfast. After a short rest, you will begin the 2.5-hour trek thRough Ngojumpa to Dragnag. Overnight in Dragnag.
Early in the morning, you will ascend along a stream to Cho-La Base Camp. It may be chilly due to the high altitude and wind. From here, the trail is stony and physically challenging but with the support of your guide, you will make it to the top of Cho-La. After you ascend the pass, you will walk on the snow to Zongla. From Zongla, you will have a majestic view of Cholatse and Amadablam. Overnight in Zongla.
After breakfast, you will start the trekking with beautiful views to Labuche, where the trail merges with Everest Base Camp Trail. After lunch in Labuche, you will continue to Gorakshep through the meadow with stunning View of mountains. If the weather is clear in the evening, you can climb up to Kalapatther (5545m) for sunset and awesome close view of Mount Everest. Overnight in Gorakshep.
In the morning, you will trek to Everest Base Camp. The summit to EBC is exhilarating as you set foot in the place where many great mountaineers began their Everest expeditions. From EBC, you can see Khumbu glacier, iceberg and Khumbu icefall. You will head back to Gorakshep and continue to Labuche.
Early in the morning, you will start trekking through the Khumbu glacier to the Kongmala Base Camp. The trail ascends up to the top of Kongma-La. From Kogma-La, you will have the excellent view of Nuptse, Amadablam (Island peak), and far beyond Makalu. After your summit, the trail descends to Chhukung through pasture which is home to many yaks and wildlife. After reaching Chhukung, you can rest. Overnight in Chhukung.
The trail takes you down to Tengboche along the Imja valley through the village of Dingboche and Pangboche. In Pangboche, you can visit the monastery and cross the bridge and to Tengboche. Tengboche is a wonderful place with the biggest monastery of Everest region. Overnight in Tengboche
After watching the magnificent sunrise, you will enjoy your breakfast and begin your trek back to Namche Bazaar. It is important to be cautious of unsteady stones during your descent. Overnight in Namche.
You will hike from Namche to Luka. The beginning of the trek descends rapidly to Dovan, which is often busy with caravans of yaks and mules. The trail will lead along the Dudhkoshi River, post the Jorsale permit check and Phakding. You will soon arrive in Lukla, ending the Three High Passes Trek. Overnight in Lukla
Early in the morning, you will fly out from Tenzing-Hilary Airport to Kathmandu. Your guide will drop you off at your hotel, where you can rest or enjoy Kathmandu. At six o'clock, Himalayan Joy Adventure will take you to a typical Nepali restaurant for a farewell dinner. After dinner, you will be dropped off at your hotel. Overnight in Kathmandu.

ECO-FRIENDLY: Every day the world is facing a big issue of environmental pollution and in Nepal as well. Our field staffs are quite conscious about environmental pollution at any time and we encourage to all. We would suggest to our guest to use boiled water or water purification pills than buying a bottle of water, it helps to avoid plastic bottles which can take a long time to disappear. During the trek, if possible you can order same items food in a group which minimises the fuel used and to make a campfire is almost forbidden. FLIGHT DELAY IN LUKLA: Sometimes the flight may be cancelled due to the unpredictable weather in Luka so Himalayan Joy Adventure has created an itinerary for this trek with one day free/extra day at the end of the trek. In case your flight has been cancelled more than two days, we will charter a helicopter to and from Luka to ensure your flight on scheduled towards homeland or further destination. This extra service cost will be minimum $500 to maximum $4000 USD dollars which you can claim from your insurance.
