The Annapurna Circuit Trek is a classic route for trekkers from around the world. It is also known as Annapurna Round trek. It follows pristine trails through the Annapurna range in central Nepal. The Annapurna Region has opened to trekkers over three and a half decades ago and has become a favourite due to its incredible views and serene surroundings. The Annapurna Circuit Trek offers a diverse array of wildlife, flora, fauna, and culture. Throughout the trek, you will pass through numerous villages with their own unique cultures and traditions. The Annapurna Circuit trail is north of the major Himalayan range to mid trans-Himalayan. You will cross the Thorung-La pass at an altitude of 5,416m, touch the edge of the Tibetan plateau, and have magnificent views of Annapurna (II, III, IV), Lamjung, Manaslu, Gangapurna, Nilgiri, Tilicho Peak and Dhaulagiri.

The Annapurna Circuit trek is moderate to comparatively challenging. Throughout the trek, you will make numerous river crossings over wooden and steel suspension bridges and stay in comfortable tea houses offering delicious fresh foods. This region also offers tent trekking if desired. The Annapurna Circuit Trek takes 16 days to complete and requires 6-7 hours of trekking per day.

Annapurna circuit trek begins at Beshishahar in the Marshyandi River Valley after 6 hours drive from the Kathmandu Valley. The Annapurna Circuit Trek crosses numerous micro-climate regions from tropics to the frigid cold at Thorong La pass (5416m), the widest pass of the world. This trail passes through terraced paddy fields and into subtropical forests, huge rock cliffs, several waterfalls and various villages. When you reach Pisang, we would suggest taking the upper trail to Gyaru, Ngawal to Manang. The upper trail offers spectacular views of mountains, landscapes and two villages rich with Tibetan influenced culture. In Manang Village (3540m), it is important to acclimatise in preparation for the challenging ascent to Thorong-La pass. Manang has many places to explore like the ice lake, Malarekpa Cape, Gangapurna Lake and the lovely village and monastery. If you are lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of the snow leopards which inhabit the area. You will then make your way to the holy Muktinath, with the breathtaking view of Dhaulagiri, and the upper Mustang landscape. You will make your way back to Jomsom and eventually make your way back to Pokhara.

Trip Note

ECO-FRIENDLY

Every day the world is facing a big issue of environmental pollution and in Nepal as well. Our field staffs are quite conscious about environmental pollution at any time and we encourage to all. We would suggest to our guest to use boiled water or water purification pills than buying a bottle of water, it helps to avoid plastic bottles which can take a long time to disappear. During the trek, if possible you can order same items food in a group which minimises the fuel used and to make the campfire is almost forbidden. We would encourage being a responsible traveller so, just leaving a footprint on the trail and bring out all non-biodegradables which you had.
